I am an individual who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and hard working. I am a friendly individual who always seeks to help others. I can work well off my own initiative and as part of a team. I can adapt in any situation and I enjoy problem solving. I have excellent communication, verbal and written skills and I am well organised. I have worked in retail, in a placement at the Village Music Shop in East Kilbride and in a temporary Christmas job at Marks and Spencer. I have also worked with children, in a placement at First Steps nursery in Hamilton. I have further experience with children as I have two younger brothers. I am also extremely passionate about all things to do with music and have a great amount of knowledge about this subject, and I am currently attending Riverside Music College undertaking an HND course in Music Performance. I also play guitar, keyboard, drums and bass.

Biography

Kaila is a Scottish girl chasing a dream. A teenager raised in the humble town of Hamilton, she fell in love with the sounds of the sixties and seventies and became inspired to make music delivering the same sounds, but with her own modern twist as a young woman growing up in a new era.

First picking up a pair of drumsticks in her first year of high school, Kaila has went on to learn a variety of instruments including guitar, bass, piano and banjo, as well as writing her own material and gathering up the courage to sing it. Kaila struck gold for the first time in 2018, when she wrote what she believes to be the best she has written - “Everything I Dreamed Of”. The following year, Kaila became a student at Riverside Music College, studying performance, and decided to bring her pièce de résistance to life in the college’s recording studios. In between, she has performed with her college bands at the Classic Grand in Glasgow, playing her first instrument that kickstarted her love for music, the drums.

Kaila plans to release her first ever single in March 2020. She is excited to see what the future will bring for her career.

Press Release

EVERYTHING I DREAMED OF: THE DEBUT SINGLE FROM KAILA

Upcoming teen artist Kaila is finally ready to unleash her musical brainchild into the world – in the form of her first ever single, Everything I Dreamed Of, a sweet little love song both relatable and catchy.

Everything I Dreamed Of is not only written by Kaila, but all instrumentation is played by Kaila also. Vocals, guitar, bass and drums – all done by one girl. The song was recorded in the studios at Riverside Music College, which are some of Scotland’s most celebrated production studios. Only heard by few select ears, all of which have shown appreciation towards the song, Everything I Dreamed Of will be available to stream across several platforms for everybody in May 2020.

Kaila has been playing music since 2014 when she first picked up drumsticks at high school and has grown into a skilled singer-songwriter with experience in a variety of instruments. She describes Everything I Dreamed Of as the first great song she ever wrote.
